Splashin' Around

Today, the kids played outside in the little pool and on the slip 'n slide. It was so hot!!! Kylie had a great time playing with her Barbie dolls in their little swimming pool (it is so cute!) Derek absolutely loves to sit in the pool and just splash over and over again. He LOVES the water! Everyone had a good time on the slip 'n slide, although it kind of freaks me out. I'm so afraid that someone is going to get hurt. It was a fun afternoon and it made the kids pretty worn out, which is good enough for me!

Derek's Favorite New Thing

My little, sweet Derek has an obsession with paper. He can spot anything made of paper from across the room and once he has it in his view, he makes a mad dash to get it in his little hands. He really doesn't like eating it, although, I have found the occasional wad of paper in his mouth. He just likes to rip it to little pieces, and sometimes carry a little piece of it tucked in his hand. I keep all of my new magazines and catalogs in a basket on the floor, so many of my magazines that I haven't been able to read yet are completely mutilated. It is so funny, if Derek was crawling somewhere and I said his name, he would stop what he was doing. Now, if there is paper involved and I call his name, he doesn't even turn to look at me, he just hauls butt as fast as he can, so that he can get there faster than I can get him. He is one smart Mr. Boobers!

Ethans Pirate Ship

Last night, the Cub Scouts had their Raingutter Regatta. The boys all make boats out of pop or water bottles and race them. Adrian and Ethan made a boat together and then Ethan decorated it. He wanted it to look like the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean, and he did an awesome job! His also raced pretty well, and we all had such a great time!

Snack and a Bath

Derek ate his first Zwieback cracker tonight. He got extremely messy, so off to the tub he went. He loves having baths in his yellow ducky bathtub. He loves to splash and wiggle around. The cutest thing, though, is that Daisy and Durban always stand up to the side of the tub and watch him. Derek thinks that is so fun, and it always makes him laugh. What sweet, wonderful dogs we have! Also, yesterday, Derek said his first word. It was DaDa. He has been saying it all day long, and I absolutely love it!!! I love my little Mr. Boobers!

Beautiful Flowers

My sweet, wonderful husband brought home flowers for me the other night, and I just had to post a picture of them. They were so beautiful and most of them were daisies, which are my very favorite!
